ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Doug has been the beginning through AP College Photography instructor going back to 2002 at Camas High School. He has grown with the digital age and the evolution of the DSLR explosion. Doug has used Photoshop 1.5 up to Adobe CC Photoshop and Lightroom 2022.
Doug has photographed just about ever type of image that you can think of. Stopping bullets in flight, grizzlies of Alaska, museum collector cars, weddings, nature, commercial work, and on and on.
Doug will help you, at your pace, when it comes to photography. His experiences with youth, and decades in the classroom, gives him a foundation on all learning styles. His goal for this group is to make connections and grow everyones knowledge base in photography.

Nature Photography Meetup - Washougal 98671 - 8:00am - 2 hours
We will cover all the camera basics and work on nature at first to get a working foundation.
I will cover the Exposure Triangle and add in camera basics.
I have shot Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, and Pentax, so I might be able to answer some of those "What does this button do???" questions.
This will be a WONDERFUL group opportunity to grow your skills, develop your knowledge, and most of all make new friends.
You are not alone, hanging together with people, like me, that can be camera dorks!
We will then travel to the Lacamas Creek Trail head, roughly 2 miles towards Camas.
We are walking to the falls. From the trail head parking, it will be a 10-15 minute walk to the falls.
The walk has a great path. It has a climb of roughly 40 feet or so in elevation, but no stairs at all. We will go at an easy pace.

We will reconnect and dive deeper into the camera. Our goal is to shoot MANUAL mode for today.
I will help you wrestle with the concepts of depth of field, how to see the subject, and working with give light.
We are going to be staying in a group the best we can. However, some buildings are a little small, and we might need to take turns now and then.

Mike Bentley
Mike Bentley was first introduced to photography in his first year of high school. This was in the days of film photography and he developed his basic understanding of photography with black-and-white and color film. He continued to take photography classes through college and beyond, and from other photographers. When digital photography started, he was quick to pick up a digital camera and continue using it ever since. For over three decades he has photographed various subject matter. Because of his passion for photography in teaching, he has become a photography instructor with immense knowledge and experience on various photo subject matter.
